Sherrie E. Voyles

Sherrie E. Voyles is a 1990 graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law.

Ms. Voyles started her legal career with the National Labor Relations Board in Detroit. From there, she moved into private practice and has been representing unions and employee benefit funds in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois since 1993.

Ms. Voyles is primarily responsible for a number of labor clients, including Amalgamated Transit Union local 241, which represents bus operators and general office employees who work for the Chicago Transit Authority, as well as a number of other public transit unions in Illinois and Indiana.

In addition, Ms. Voyles represents several private sector unions in the construction and entertainment industry. In that capacity, Ms. Voyles advises clients daily on matters relating to grievances, handles arbitrations, interest arbitrations and represents clients in various matters before the Illinois State Labor Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as in State and Federal courts.

Ms. Voyles is also primarily responsible for representing several ERISA funds. In that capacity, she attends trustees' meetings and advises clients on issues related to the administration and implementation of their pension and health and welfare plans, including COBRA, coordination of benefits, HIPAA, and appeals issues. She has served as first chair in a number of bench trials in U.S. District Court representing employee benefit funds in ERISA matters. She has also handled numerous employment law cases in state and federal courts involving statutory rights claims such as FLSA and FMLA.

Ms. Voyles is admitted to practice in Illinois (1997), Michigan (1990), Ohio (1991), the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Federal trial bar.
