JBOSH has extensive experience providing legal advice and support to our employee benefit fund clients. We are legal counsel to public pension funds in Illinois, Indiana and Alabama, and ERISA employee benefit funds, including both defined benefit and defined contribution pension funds, health and welfare funds, industry promotion, labor management cooperation initiatives, and apprenticeship trainingfunds. We represent fund clients in a variety of cases, including:

• Administrative review proceedings.
• Complex litigation in state and federal courts.
• Advising fund clients on the Illinois Pension Code, ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and U.S. Department of Labor regulations.
• Counseling our fund clients on fiduciary issues.
• Drafting various plan documents including plans, trust agreements, summary plan descriptions, summaries of material modifications and COBRA notices.
• Drafting investment, Ethics and collection policies.
• Preparing plans for IRS qualification.
• Monitoring plan compliance.
• Determining benefit eligibility.
• Negotiating and drafting investment management and other service provider agreements.
• Evaluating qualified domestic relations orders.
• Providing advice on benefit appeals.
• Health and welfare fund issues such as COBRA compliance, subrogation, coordination of benefits and HIPAA.
• Drafting documents necessary for compliance including documents, trust agreements.
• Counseling fund clients regarding fund office personnel matters.
